International Study Abroad Ecosystem
A multi-sided education platform connecting students, education consultants and institutions across the international study application journey.
The product had to serve three very different groups at once — each with their own goals and workflows — while keeping a single application moving smoothly from interest to enrolment.
Client identity withheld due to confidentiality.
Context
Studying abroad is a long, document-heavy and often stressful process. Students move between course research, eligibility checks, applications, documents and decisions — frequently with the help of an education consultant, and always ending at an institution. Today this journey is fragmented across portals, email, spreadsheets and messaging, which creates repeated work and lost context for everyone involved.
The challenge
- Serve three sides with different needs in one product
- Keep a single application coherent across parties
- Reduce repeated information and lost documents
- Make status clear for students and consultants
- Support institution review and decisions
- Coordinate without adding friction
Users
- Prospective students
- Education consultants & agents
- Institution admissions staff
- Internal administrators
- Support & operations teams
Three sides, one journey
Students

Manage multiple students, guide applications, track documents and coordinate with institutions.
Institutions
Receive structured applications, review documents and manage decisions and communication.
Product scope

Design approach
Guided applications
Break a complex application into clear, manageable steps rather than one overwhelming form.
Shared source of truth
One application record that all parties see, so information isn't repeated or lost.
Structured documents
Document collection should be guided and status-aware, not a generic upload folder.
Status transparency
Every side should understand where an application stands and what happens next.
Complexity
- Multi-sided platform
- Long application lifecycle
- Document-heavy workflows
- Different goals per user type
- Cross-party coordination
- International scope
